Meet Michelle, a dedicated mom and experienced education leader who is running for the Medford School Board. As PTO President and a school volunteer, she understands the needs inside of current classrooms. As President of Kids Unlimited Academy, and Vice-President of Family Nurturing Center, she is trusted to help schools and families thrive.
Michelle's vision for our district centers on collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and ensuring equal access to high-quality education for all students. Her priorities include added services for special education, mental health, and behavior.
Michelle has served as President of the Charter School Board for Kids Unlimited Academy for six years. She played an instrumental role in helping the school provide high-quality education to its students. Michelle worked closely with a team of educators to ensure year-round classes, longer school days, and robust English Language Learning programs. She also helped develop the school's award-winning nutrition program, sports opportunities, and support for families in need.
Michelle is the President Elect of the Family Nurturing Center, where she has been a board member since 2017. She has helped secure grant funding to offer additional housing to families in need, and expanded programs for early childhood education, foster family support, parent/peer support groups, respite child care, and drug addiction treatment. Her dedication to improving the well-being of families makes her an ideal candidate for the Medford School Board.
As the President of Hoover Elementary's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), Michelle led successful fundraising efforts that generated over $100,000 for the school in just two years. To ensure that all families could participate in school events, Michelle made them free of charge. She also worked with the City of Medford to apply for an ODOT grant for sidewalks around Hoover, which was recently approved. This achievement not only benefits Hoover, but also many other Medford schools.
